The wire and cable industry is enhancing its quality standards and strengthening self-regulation and compliance.
In order to earnestly cooperate with the government’s special supervision and inspection of wire and cable manufacturers, in line with the national strategy of building a strong quality nation, and to fully enhance the industry’s quality supply level and assurance capabilities, strengthen self-regulation and compliance, assume social responsibility, safeguard industry interests, promote quality improvement and efficiency enhancement, and foster the healthy development of the industry, the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association hereby issues the following initiative to all members as well as all industry organizations and practitioners.
1. Strictly comply with national laws and regulations, conscientiously implement all provisions of the nation’s industrial policies, industrial access requirements, and industry management rules, and voluntarily uphold social ethics and good order. Uphold the development philosophy of “integrity first, quality paramount,” and conduct business operations in a standardized manner. Strictly enforce product standards and honor production and business contracts. Fulfill social responsibilities including safe production, lawful tax payment, environmental protection, and labor protection.
Second, we must adhere to the strategy of building a country strong in quality, foster the philosophy of driving industrial development and enterprise strength through quality, enhance awareness of quality responsibility, and earnestly fulfill our primary responsibility for product quality. We will strictly implement the “one-vote veto” system for quality and safety, establish and improve a sound quality and safety accountability system, and ensure that this system is fully enforced at every stage and by every employee. We will also build and refine a comprehensive quality integrity system and a robust corporate quality culture. We will rigorously enforce end-to-end quality and safety controls, preventing substandard raw materials from entering the production process and ensuring that only qualified products leave the factory.
Third, actively cooperate with government oversight and voluntarily accept supervision from users, consumers, and society. Implement a system for holding accountable those responsible for quality and safety, improve the product quality traceability system, and rigorously ensure effective traceability, recall, and handling of products with quality issues, thereby genuinely safeguarding the interests of consumers and users.
Fourth, we will promote the spirit of craftsmanship—striving for excellence and continuous improvement—to enhance our capacity to ensure quality. We will continuously refine all management practices centered on quality, strengthen the building of various systems, actively adopt new processes, technologies, materials, and equipment, and vigorously advance the integration of informatization and industrialization as well as smart manufacturing. This will improve the reliability and stability of our products, driving our overall quality standards toward the high-end.
V. Implement a brand development strategy to enhance our core competitiveness, creating value for users through product and service quality. We will strive to improve our technological innovation capabilities, optimize our product supply structure, adopt appropriate advanced quality standards, and provide users with high-quality, high-performance, cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient products and services.
Sixth, we must strictly uphold the moral bottom line of quality and safety, never jeopardizing user safety or harming user interests. We will resolutely put an end to all illegal activities such as manufacturing and selling counterfeit products, cutting corners on materials, and passing off inferior goods as superior. We will also firmly reject fraudulent practices including illegal labeling, false advertising, and deceptive or misleading consumer practices. We will neither produce nor sell products that fall below established standards, nor will we produce or sell products explicitly designated for phase-out.
7. Uphold the concept of healthy development, engage in market competition in a lawful, fair, and orderly manner, oppose unfair competition and fraudulent practices, and jointly foster a harmonious ecosystem for the industry and its value chain. Resist any form of maliciously low-price competition. Resist any behavior that uses illegal or improper means to exclude or restrict other operators’ fair competition. Resist any false or fraudulent practices.
8. We advocate for cooperative partnerships based on mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, and oppose any actions that infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of other enterprises. We firmly prohibit any acts that violate others’ intellectual property rights, such as patents and proprietary technologies, as well as commercial secrets. We strictly forbid the unauthorized use of others’ trademarks, company names, or personal names. We oppose using abnormal means to disrupt other enterprises’ talent pools. We also oppose any behavior that damages the reputation of our industry peers and other enterprises.
9. Adhere to international trade rules, conduct business with integrity and honor commitments, strengthen industry coordination, and engage in international cooperation and competition in an orderly manner. Prohibit any behavior that undermines the country’s image or the interests of the industry for the sake of pursuing one’s own self-interest.
10. Do not engage in any activities that harm the industry. Let us jointly safeguard the interests of the industry, collectively withstand industry risks, and together uphold the overall development of the wire and cable industry.
We hope the entire industry will jointly abide by this initiative!
